Frequently Asked Questions
π Daily Logging and Meal Organizationβ
I only see the "Lunch/Meal" option in my diary, where are "Breakfast", "Dinner", and "Snacks"?β
CaloriTrack adapts to your lifestyle. If you only see one meal, you likely have the "1 Meal (OMAD)" preference set. To see the rest, go to the bottom of your nutrition diary, tap the button with the grid icon, and select your preferred structure (4, 3, 2, or 1 meal a day). Your diary will update automatically.
I always eat the same breakfast. Do I have to search and log my eggs and oatmeal every day?β
Not at all! You have tools to speed this up. In the meal header (e.g., "Breakfast"), tap the three-dot menu (or options button) and select "Copy from yesterday". Also, when logging a food, you can use the "Add to multiple days" section to select it for the whole week at once.
I logged a food under "Dinner" but it was for "Lunch", do I have to delete it and search for it again?β
No need. Simply tap the food you mistakenly logged in your diary. On the edit screen, look for the "Log Details" section and change the selector from "Dinner" to "Lunch". Tap save and it will move automatically.
How do I delete a food or a complete meal that I logged by mistake?β
You have a couple of options. You can long-press the food or meal and select "Delete" from the dropdown menu. If you are in edit mode, you can tap the red minus icon next to the food.
π Search, Scanner, and Private Foodsβ
I scanned a barcode but the app says the food was not found. What do I do?β
Although our database is huge, some local or very new products might be missing. When this happens, the screen will show you a button to "Create private food". There you can enter the name, brand, and main macros (calories, proteins, fats, and carbs) from the product's label. Once saved, you can log it immediately and it will be saved for your personal use.
In the search results, what does the blue checkmark icon versus a world icon mean?β
It's an indicator of trust. The blue checkmark (seal) means the food is "Certified by CaloriTrack"; meaning, our database has validated it. The world icon indicates that the food comes from a public database, like the USDA.
I entered the "Meal Catalog" but I only want to see low-carb options. Is that possible?β
Absolutely! At the top of the Meal Catalog, you will find a scrollable bar with different "pills" or tags. Simply swipe, find the "Low Carb" option and tap it; the grid will immediately filter for compatible options.
π― Goals, Macros, and Progressβ
My calorie and macro goals changed on their own and now it won't let me edit them manually. Why?β
This happens when you activate a Meal Plan. The system prioritizes the specific goals required by the plan so you can reach your objective. If you prefer to have full manual control of your calories and macros again, you must go to your Active Plan card, select "Manage", and then "Cancel Current Plan".
I don't like counting grams, I prefer to adjust my macros by percentages (e.g., 40% protein, 30% fat, 30% carbs). Where do I do this?β
Go to the "Adjust Goals" screen, tap the visual Macros card (Proteins, Carbs, Fats) and an adjustment sheet will open. At the top, change the input mode from "Grams" to "Percentages". The system will calculate the exact grams for you based on your total calories.
I eat differently on weekends, can I have a different calorie goal for Saturday and Sunday?β
Yes. In your goals settings, toggle the "Customize goals by day" switch. This will enable a new option called "Edit Weekly Goals", where you can set specific calories and macros for each day of the week independently.
In my "Weekly Calorie Summary", I see the bars change color. What does that indicate?β
The bar chart is a traffic light for your adherence. If the bar is Mint Green, it means you achieved your goal or stayed below your limit. If the bar turns Orange, it means you exceeded your caloric goal for that day.
π₯ Micronutrients and Antinutrientesβ
What is the "Antinutrients" card and why do some bars turn red?β
Antinutrients are compounds found in foods (mainly vegetables, seeds, and legumes) that can interfere with the absorption of vitamins and minerals if consumed in excess. If the bar is Green, your intake is low and safe. If it turns Orange, you are approaching the tolerable limit. If it is Red, you have exceeded the recommended daily limit (e.g., high oxalate consumption).
I want to see if I met my Potassium goals for the whole week, not just today. Is that possible?β
Of course. Enter the details by tapping the "Micronutrients" card. At the top, below the title, you will see a selector that says "Today" and "7 Days" (or Weekly). Select the weekly view and the system will show you the average consumption of the last few days compared to your daily goal. You can also filter only the "Missing" nutrients to see which ones to focus on.
π Meal Plans and Grocery Listsβ
I activated a plan, where do I find the ingredients I need to buy?β
On the main Nutrition screen, tap "Manage" inside your active plan's card. Then select "Grocery List". We will show you all the ingredients grouped by category.
The grocery list has things I already have in my pantry, can I share only what I'm missing with my partner?β
Totally. On the Grocery List screen, tap the "Select" button in the top right. This will allow you to check only the ingredients you are missing. Then, tap the Share icon and CaloriTrack will generate a clean text with only your selection to send via WhatsApp or any other app.
In the Plan Assistant, can I choose a Ketogenic (Keto) diet and be Dairy-Free at the same time?β
Yes. The assistant is designed to combine your preferences. In step 3 you choose your restrictions (e.g., Dairy-Free) and in step 4 you select the diet style (e.g., Ketogenic Diet). The system will filter the database and recommend in the final step only the plans that strictly meet both conditions.
